What I Think Christmas is About.

I think Christmas is about the traditions of meeting family and relatives. Then there is the fun in Christmas, like for example, putting cookies and carrots out for Santa on Christmas Eve. Although when I was younger, I would put the treats out for Santa and his Reindeer and then come Christmas morning they would be gone. There is also traditions in Christmas like the Christmas Eve dinner, the traditional turkey, the egg nog and the Fruit cake. There is also the joy of getting presents, but it is not always about the presents, it is also about spending time with your remaining relatives because when you start to age you start getting more lonely because they can not do as many things as they used to. They can not go for long walks, play sports, so it is always a good to spend time with your grandparents. It is also good to be surprised with Christmas presents as-well though. Christmas is a very special occasion.

What Christmas Means To Me

At my house, Christmas is always a busy time. Relatives come from all around Canada, and sometimes even from the United Kingdom. Almost every year my grandma and grandpa Birkett come from the chilly little town of Love, Saskatchewan, to be with us. It's a tiny town, with only a hall, two little gift shops, a school house, a few other buildings, and less than one hundred residents! I very rarely get to see my aunt, uncle, and cousins, but this year they will be coming from Kamloops to stay with us for a month. My grandparents will not be able to come because my grandpa has to receive heart surgery today, so he will need the month to rest. My other grandma will come, though, so I will at least have one grandparent with me. I have many other relatives, and they alternate coming to stay at our house and my cousins place on the mainland, so my family is never without company. Christmas is a time of visiting and catching up with each other.

When December comes around, my mom goes Christmas crazy with decorations, lights, a huge tree, a bunch of perfectly wrapped gifts, baking, and warm, home-cooked meals. My dad puts up the lights, my brother and I decorate the tree and wrap our presents, while my mom takes care of the rest. Christmas is a time of preperations with my family.

On Christmas Eve, my brother and I open one present each, whichever one we want. We always have KFC for dinner on this night, as a tradition. Then we watch old movies and eat baked treats by the fire. After my large family has finished catching up, we all go to sleep. Christmas is a time of traditions.

On Christmas morning, everyone waits to see who is the last one to wake up, then we all yell, "Merry Christmas!" really loudly by their bed. After everyone is up, we all file into the living room, take a seat on the couch, and take a picture. Then comes presents. We spend most of the morning ripping, tearing, opening gifts. When all of the commotion is over, we thank each other and get ready for supper, which we all look forward to. Christmas is a time to be thankful.

Finally, after dinner, everyone visits and chats, the kids play with gifts, and the dogs sleep. Every one is in high spirits. Christmas is ultimately a time for family- everyone together on a great day.

What Christmas Means to Me.

My Christmas
Topic
Christmas
is an important
time of year to a
lot
of people. Many
people
enjoy the gifts
they receive
but they don't
consider the fact
that it is not
what you receive, but
what you
give. An extremely important
part of
Christmas to me is the snow. Snow
is so
important that if there wasn't any snow
I
wouldn't be as happy. Guitar is a big
part of my life
so I learn Christmas songs.
Songs like Jingle bells, Silent
Night, and many
others. Food is an important factor. I have
a
Christmas eve party and a Christmas
morning breakfast and a
Christmas night party
. Meeting with family and friends is the most
important thing of all.
I know a lot of families
celebrate Christmas
differently but this
is
how I celebrate mine.

What I Think Chirstmas Is About

I think Christmas is about three things.
Number One: Spending lots of time with your family.
Number Two: Decorating the Christmas tree and your house.
Number Three: Giving and receiving presents.
I also think that Christmas is a money based holiday. The big business owners always raise the prices of what they sell around December and January. Merry Christmas to you too, you greedy little pigs. My favorite thing about Christmas is the snow.... or it was the snow. Back in Calgary, we got ten inches of snow in the winter. In Victoria we only get around.... maybe one or two inches? I don't know exactly but you get the picture. In Calgary we made huge snow forts and i mean huge. We also had snowball wars. there was enough snow to last us a good hour of throwing snowballs into the other persons base. My favorite thing to do in the snow though was sledding. We had a huge hill behind one of my friend's house. I know your probably thinking, "What? Hills in Calgary?" There are hills and there huge. Anyway we got about twenty-thirty kids and all lined up at the top of the hill. We each then ran five steps and jumped onto are sleds. The hill took about one minute sled down and about seven to walk back up. It was insanely fun. That's what i think about Christmas. Lets hope we get some snow that will actually last this year.

What christmas meas to me:))

I think christmas means to me is that everybody brings a gift for family and friend. Christmas is not only about recieving, it's about giving to. I love christmas because I get to have all my family members all over to my house for turkey dinner. They all give me a present and I give them one. It doesn't matter what you get or how much it costs, it just matters if it comes from the heart. I like christmas because i always get everything i want from santa clause. Santa is my idol because kids all around the world love him including John.

What Christmas is all about

I think Christmas is about seeing family and relatives and just enjoy it. I really think Christmas is about presents and gifts. what i really think is the meaning of Christmas is to have a great big Christmas Eve dinner with the family coming over and saying grace( I barley say grace but sometimes I do). sometimes me and my older cousins make some snowmen and we get are dirt bikes and drive through them (it's fun) . Every Christmas we make big banners made out of strings of paper. during Christmas I LOVE drinking eggnog and cake. I like Christmas. and probably so do you

What Christmas Means to Me

To me Christmas is about presents, family, friends and food. For food it is usually turkey at Christmas dinner. As well as baked goods such as chocolate short bread and brownies. For family they almost never visit us except for my cousin Richard and my aunt Sue. The rest of them just send cards. Only our close friends visit us at Christmas time like our neighbours. Presents... Who doesn't like receiving or giving presents. So that's what Christmas means to me and what happens at Christmas time.

What Christmas means to me

Christmas is a holiday that means you should give just as much you receive. I like Christmas because you will get many gifts, but also give many gifts. Also, Christmas has many stories along with it like Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman, and many others. It also has many songs, for example, Silent Night, Jingle bells. Christmas means different things for different people that celebrate Christmas. Some people like Christmas because of the time they get to spend with their families on Christmas Eve. Also, the spirit of Santa Claus is still alive in many people. This is why I like Christmas.

What Christmas Means to Me

Every Christmas different things mean different ways of looking at stuff from different points of view. Christmas over the years meant a lot of different things to me, but this year things are different. This year Christmas means about giving, visiting family, wishing everybody a merry "ho,ho", the joy of opening presents, filling up on dark, milk and white chocolate (until I throw up), and sitting on Barney's lap in Santa's workshop, every time I get. That is what Christmas really means to me.

Tis the Season to be Jolly

Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year. I normally celebrate it at home, but the day after I go to Vancouver where I see the rest of my family. Christmas has a great feeling to it, but that could always be the smell of the hot chocolate. I think some of the most important things about it are seeing everybody in my family because I never see them often. I went to Vancouver once last year, and that doesn't seem like enough. I also think that decorating the tree is really important. We always get the real ones that have like zero branches, and we put so many decorations on it that the branches look like they're about to snap. I really don't know why we do this, but it's been like that forever. The food at Christmas is always interesting. Since one side of my family is from the Czech Republic I always have to eat cod... which is disgusting if you ask me. I don't mind having a turkey dinner. That's really good, but the other food is a bit different. The last thing that's important to me is walking into the house and smelling gingerbread cookies and the tree. That's one of my favorite parts of Christmas, and I'm hoping it will never leave.

what x-mas means to me

Christmas is about sharing giving and the joy of the holidays. The gifts and nice but think about it giving is the most joy to see a smile on some ones face. There is a 2th holiday new years not like Christmas but to say hello new year and good bye old year. at school in the holiday we kids get 2weeks off to spend time with are families. I like Christmas is a good time of the year the last mouth of the year and is some of the gifts from Santa or from are man or dad no ones know. and the songs are so beautiful like Santa is coming to town jingle bells and all of the holiday songs. And the last thing i like is the love of the spirit of the holiday. have a marry Christmas

What Christmas Means To Me....

Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year! In the winter seasons everyone is in the Christmas Spirit, & are cheerful and happy:) Christmas to me is about giving instead of receiving even thought it fun to open presents, this Christmas me & my brother bought a gift each for children in for the Santa anonymous. I bought a teenage girl a make up kit while my brother bought a young boy a Nintendo DS game. I love the feeling of Christmas Eve because the next morning my brother & I wake up extra early! We first open our stockings & look at our main gifts while my parents and grandparents are making Christmas breakfast. We are only aloud to open one present before breakfast the rest has to be open all together in front of the family. I spend Christmas with my Mom & Dad & my Brother & my Grandparents, I don't spend Christmas with my Uncle & Aunt & Cousins because they live in the Dubai:( At night time, we have a big Turkey dinner... after dinner & desert, everyone gets one last small present before Christmas day is over. Merry Christmas:)

What Christmas means to me

What Christmas means to me. For me Christmas means that we sleep in and wait for everybody to get up and then my mom makes us pancakes and then we open presents. after we try out all the new stuff we got and every year my nana come over and she opens all her presents but it takes for ever because she saves the rapping paper. after the long morning my mom bakes a Christmas dinner which is really good. The end of the night i eat my chocolate and get ready for my dad's for a second Christmas. I get a few gifts at his house i like Christmas at my mom's because i get more presents but i also get to see family that havn't seen for a while and thats what happens every Christmas.

Christmas

Christmas is my favourite time of the year. Everyone is cheerful and filled with Christmas spirit. For me, Christmas is a time for re-uniting with your family, baking sugar cookies, and trying to go to bed as soon as possible on Christmas eve. Every Christmas I wake up early in the morning, open my stocking, and bang on the door for my parents to wake up so we can start opening presents, after the presents are open I leave to go have Christmas #2 with my dads side of the family at his house. I love having two Christmases because you get to have double the fun and see double the family. Even though getting gifts is great, that's not what Christmas is fully about. Christmas is for meeting with your family, having fun, and pushing all your bad feelings aside to celebrate the birth of Jesus. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

WOOT CHRISTMAS!

I love Christmas, I mean, who doesn't? Free gifts, good food and don't forget no school for two weeks!! Every Christmas I go to my grandmother's house in Vancouver. Everyone comes and we celebrate the festive holiday. LETS NOT FORGET THE TREE! Even though we leave to Vancouver, my family still gets a tree for our house. We decorate it and my dog eats the pine needles... And what about snow!? Snow is a ton of fun to play in and it gives you a good reason to throw snowballs at people. Presents! We get and we give presents! We have to do a hell a lot of shopping and then we wrap them up and put presents under the tree. On Christmas morning you run down and you see the pile of presents you got (half of them are most likely to be clothes) Another great part about Christmas is making cookies and other good food for everyone. Anyways, what Christmas means to me is being with family and friends and giving presents to people you love!

What Christmas means to me (:

In my opinion Christmas is a time of year when people celebrate all the gifts in their life. Not gifts as in presents but gifts as family, and friends. When Christmas comes around i get to see a lot of family. Usually at my house on Christmas eve, my whole family comes to my house and we throw a party. Then on Christmas day, for dinner sometimes we have family over but usually we go to my grandparents house for a nice turkey dinner. Every year Sydney, Madison, Paige, Mia and i all do a gift exchange then go to a movie. We buy each other presents under 20$, go out for dinner then exchange gifts. After the party on Christmas eve, we all get to open one present and its usually pajamas that we wear to bed that night. Then the next morning we all get up at the crack of dawn and open our stalkings then the rest of our presents. This year on boxing day were driving up to Mount Washington. My sisters and i are all taking snow boarding lessons, while my mom and dad take my brother tubing. This year i'm extra excited because i just moved into a new house in August. Christmas is my favourite time of year, and i love enjoying it with family and friends. (:

This is what Christmas means to me. :)

Christmas is a time of year that is a unique time to get all the family together to show love for each other. Around Christmas, tons of my family come from different places to celebrate with us and we always have a very good time. I live with my mom and dad at seperate houses, so i get to have two christmas's. I spend half the christmas day with each of them and there side of the family. We always wake up quite early on christmas morning, and have breakfast while opening our stockings. After breakfast we go sit around the christmas tree and open the rest of our presents. That night we always have a lot of family over for tasty christmas dinner and exchange gifts to and from each family member. On boxing day we have always gone up to Nanaimo to see my grandparents who live there, and meet my dad's side of the family there. We have different snacks and drinks through out the day and open presents together. That night we all have another christmas dinner and stay over at their house. I love christmas, it is my favourite time of the year. I think this is because i love to spend time with family, and everyone is always so happy. It is always a great day, and i look forward to it every year.

Christmas

Christmas
Is important to me because I get to spend time with my family. Have a huge dinner with my family and putting up Christmas lights with my dad. I love to play in the snow and go to mount Washington and go skiing and tubing. I enjoy putting up the Christmas tree and drinking egg nog in front of the fire. I love Christmas morning opening presents and seeing peoples faces when they open their presents. I believe that spending time with family is more important than receiving gifts but getting presents is still important.

Christmas!

Christmas is the best time of year! Everyone is in a joyfully mood. All the kids are playing in the snow. Also, there's carolers singing in the street !! What Christmas means to me is family and friends...in the snow. The Best part of Christmas is the tree. This year I got an uncultured tree. that means it was grown naturally on farm in Saanich. ( it has pine cones on it teehee)And you know whats under the tree.... PRESENTS! I think Christmas is about giving and not receiving. I also like drinking hot chocolate!!!!!!!!! Snow is really fun to play in with Maddie. It is also great to throw a snowball at brothers face! Another one of my favorite Christmas drinks are EGGNOG!!!!!

Christmas

Christmas to me means spending time with your family, and spreading the Christmas spirit all year around. I believe Christmas is mostly about creating memories with with your family, and eating delicious food. When my family and I wake up at about 9:00 on Christmas morning, start opening presents and eat a awesome breakfast. I enjoy it when my family comes from Alberta, and celebrates the wonderful holiday. We usually just sit at home and visit with my loving family, and eat lots of food. To some people Christmas is just about opening presents and eating food, but our family mostly loves the wonderful family we have around us. I love to be old fashioned and just spread the Christmas spirit all year around. Usually when my family comes we throw a big party, and celebrate Christmas with my family and friends. To me, Christmas means having the right spirit, and being jolly all year around. :)

Well I'm not religious, so christmas doesn' t really hit me as a religious thing, but pretty much all my family does is exchange gifts. My auntie and uncle normally come over to my house and join us and so does my dad. So it's normally me, my sister, my brother, my other sister, my other brother, my mom, my dad, and my step dad, and auntie and uncle. We all go to my moms house, eat breakfast/lunch and open presents and stockings. Winter is a very cold time, and normally at my house i get a lot of snow, but there is no snow in Victoria yet, i wish there was. Christmas is a very warm time at my house, with our fire going and all the presents, and my tree is always the best! My tree this year is like, 11 feet tall and like... 6 feet wide. It's insane. But that's about it, merry Christmas guys!

What Christmas Means To Me.

Christmas is a beautiful, loving holiday that is full of joy and giving. In my family, we buy each other gifts and have a turkey dinner where all our family attends, it's really nice because Christmas is when all our family comes together at once! We also decorate our house and blast Christmas carols in our house to really get us in the Christmas spirit. I belt out the good songs, even though I'm a terrible singer. On Christmas Eve my cousins, aunts, uncles and I, go to my grandma and grandpa's house and open gifts. It's nice to have a gift on Christmas Eve because it helps calm down the excitement for Christmas morning. Christmas is by far my favorite holiday. My favorite part is that everyone is in a happy mood! I also LOVE watching Christmas movies and drinking hot chocolate by the fire place, that is, after coming in and playing in all the snow! I love having snowball fights with my brother, I win every time. Usually we have a family snow ball war, it gets pretty exciting, I tend to think that i am champion! To me, Christmas is about family, giving, and turkey dinner. :)

What Christmas means to me!!

It's Christmas time!!
Christmas to means a time of warmth. A day when the family sits at the dinner table and where my brothers and my sisters and I stay awake all night and wake up at like 6 am in the morning! And decorating the Christmas tree and play in the snow and listen to Christmas music and get to see my younger siblings get all happy about Santa ! And usually family members who live far ways away come to visit. And than my friends would come over and say what they got and plus the yummy Christmas food comes out like egg nog which my brother always drinks all of it before we even get to see it!! And we always sneak the candy off the ginger bread house when our older brothers aren't looking...! When they notices we just run for our lives..! And always turns in too a big snowball fight! Plus it's always fun to shop for people and see the smiles on their faces when they get it! And i love to ride through the city and see all the lights on the houses it's just way better than driving around and seeing just plan old houses with no curator to them cause the streets are all lid up and in the malls the kids get really happy because they get to have their picture on Santa's lap!! That's what Christmas means's

The Artic Monkeys

The Arctic Monkeys are a band that got together in 2002 surprisingly because "they were bored", which is a weird reason for a band to get together. They originated in Sheffield, England but their music is playing all across the US, Canada and other places around the world. The band consists of four band members which are Alex Turner, who is the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, Jamie Cook, who is the lead guitarist. There is also Nick O'Malley, who is the bassist and the back-up vocalist, and finally the drummer and also the back-up vocalist, Matt Helders. The first song which reached the number 1 charts (UK) was their second single "I Bet You Look Good On The Dance Floor". Their first album, "Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not" was released in January 2006 and became the fastest selling debut album in British history. So far, the Arctic Monkeys have 3 albums up to date, "Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not", "Favourite Worst Nightmare", and "Humbug". My personal favourite album is "Favourite Worst Nightmare" because it's really fast and really loud. My favourite song from that album is "Brainstorm" because it's also very fast and i can play it on my real drums.

Drumming

Drumming is great because you can make it up as you go along it is also good because you can be the best in the world or the worst and you can still have fun. you can drum on basicly anything or anywhere you don't nessacerally have to have any euipment or expereance just a scence of rythum. drumsets can range from 2 drums to 40 drums there are so many
things that you can do on a drum set and so many types and styles. Try it some time.

my mom

I love my mom because she buys me things, but the bad thing is she told me that I was lousy at playing hockey which made me upset. When my mom told me this, it made me want to play even harder because if she thinks I am not very good then the scouts won't think I am good, so I won't go far in hockey. Now I am playing my heart out like nothing I have ever done before. I really do love my mom though, mainly because she gives me hugs most of the time, but if not, she is then pissed of at me.

Ants in your Pants

Today I am going to talk about pants. Pants are very comfortable and they hide your leg hair. Pants come in very many sizes such 12, 14, 22, and maybe even size 66 for some people. Pants also come in many different designs such as bell bottoms, slim cut, skinny jeans, I could go on but I do not really know many other pant styles. Pants also come in very many colors such as Black, Grey, Blue, Yellow, Pink, Red, Purple, tree, bush, and again I could go on forever. I am also a very big fan of pants and shorts, but mostly pants. I hope you enjoyed my segment on, PANTS!

Triple Threat

I have already wrote a blog post on dance, but I just got back on Sunday from an amazing two-day dance convention called Triple Threat. I haven't stopped talking about it or doing the choreography from it since I went, and many people have told me to stop talking about it; apparently it's getting on their nerves.
There is only one thing that you do at Triple Threat. You dance all day, doing all styles of dance- hip hop, street jazz, contemporary, ballroom and tap. Non-stop. From eight in the morning until four-thirty in the afternoon, you learn various choreography from a number of professional dancers. One of my favourite choreographers was Devin Jamieson. Now, what is cool about this particular dance instructor is that he was going to be one of Michael Jackson's back up dancers for his tour, This Is It. He knew all of the choreography, and I was lucky enough to learn some of it. The moves he taught us are quite complex, so it took a lot of rehearsing to figure them out. Another famous choreographer is Stacey Tookey. She has been known to create emotional contemporary choreography, and has been featured on So You Think You Can Dance and So You Think You Can Dance Cananda.
If you ever get the opportunity to attend this convention, DO IT. Although the moves are challenging and the hours tough, it is one of the best experiences I have ever had.

Justin Bieber

Justin Drew Bieber was born on March 14 1994. His career started on youtube where he was discovered by his future manager, Scooter Braun. Scooter flew Justin to Atlanta, Georgia to consult with Usher and soon signed a record deal with Island. The first part of his two-part debut album, My World was released on November 17 2009. Already, 4 sucessful pre-album singles have been released One time, One less lonely girl, love me and favourite girl which were top 15 hits on the Canadian hot 100, and top 40 hits on the billboard hot 100. Justins album recieved only positive reviews from the critics and debuted #6 on the U.S Billboard, selling 137 000 copies in it's first week, which was the best opening for an artist in 2009. It also debuted #1 on the Canadians Albums chart. Part 2 of "My world" is currently set for March 10 2010. Justin Bieber is only 15 and is already insanely rich, i wonder what he will be like by age 20! (:

Take a picture with Santa!

At every mall there's a Photo Santa for Christmas. Their average salary for a mall is $8,000! With 7,829 average child visits to Santa per mall, that's $1.02 per screaming kid. I was searching for for how much you pay to see Santa and a lady who was going to get her son to take a picture with Santa found out it was $25 for one 5x6
photo. Imagine that. So if 7,829 kids visited that santa, he would of got
$195,725!!! You never really think about that untill you really look into it. You guys are probably thinking i want to be a Santa, but the thing is it's not 'easy' to be a santa. First of all you got to have been in an acting class before. Second of all the kids are very loud, frisky and they bite!

5 facts about a bad mall Santa

1. Before the kids sit on his lap, he orders the elves to frisk them.

2. He becomes the new cigarette lobby spokesman.

3. He tells the kids to leave a glass of milk at the ATM
cards.

4. He won’t talk to the kids without a disclaimer.

5.He refers to the wishing fountain as his “tip jar.”

Green

The colour green is the best colour ever because its just so...... green. there is no way to describe green except that its the colour of plants and many animals. It is perfect because its a mix between blue and yellow, meaning that it's not too blue and it's almost yellow. Unfortunatley CO2 and some poisons are green so most people have associated the colour green with things that are disgusting. For example, in old cartoons, if someone cuts the cheese or picks up somthing that smells bad, green gases will rise from the object. People like me -(Green Fans)- are trying to make everyone see that the colour green is not a gross colour and convince them that it is actualy a great colour. This is why i think green is the best colour ever, hands down.

Dirt biking

Dirt biking is my favorite thing to do in my spare time i have a Honda 100 cc i go to a track out in sooke i go with my friends Cristian and Jorden. The last dirt bike i had ( It was a 80 cc) i tried to jump a big root but FAILED!!! and i riped the bottom frame off and destroid my bike. I normally dirt bike on sundays because i have soccer on saturdays. Dirt biking has advantages and disadvantages. The advantages are that most bikes are well made and thay function well on dirt andn on the road. The disadvantages are that the engine is right where your feet are so it gets really hot and somtimes burn your feety thats why i have dirt biking boot that go up to just below your knees they are leather and some other material. Dirt biking is done all over the world they do rallys on live tv ( i have been in one before) people do it for money and for fun.

Eid (A Muslim holiday)

Eid happens twice a year the fist time is the mark the end of Ramadan. The second time commemorate the story of Abraham. Were he had to kill his son on gods order. In the end he nearly killed his son but before he did god told him that was enough and that he would be reworded for his obedience. He then sent down four healthy lambs from the heavens and they feasted. Ever since we commemorate by slottering cows, camels, goats or lambs and have a feast afterwords.

Mexico

Mexico is an awesome place to go for relaxation, and you have lots of fun there. I go to Mexico because I love the option to stay at the resort, or go have fun. Swimming with the dolphins is exiting and the most fun thing to do there. The Caribbean sea is very clear, and its very warm. I love lying on the beach because it is intensely hot there. The colour of the sand is very rich, and it is always very warm. Cancun is the best place to go because it is very clean and has better things to buy then the other places in mexico. Most people go on vacation, but some people move there because they love the hot sun.

Dubai

Dubai is located South of the Persian gulf on the Arabian Peninsula. It is one of the seven Emirates in the United Arab Emirates and covers 4,114km of land. Dubai has the largest population and has the second largest emirate by area, and lies in the by the Arabian desert. It shares the border with Abu Dhabi in the south, Sharjah in the northeast and Sultanate of Oman in the southeast. Dubai is a very rich country and have many laws. Dubai Marine a Residential district is the world's second largest man-made marina, the Burj Dubai is the tallest man-made structure in the world. There are many ways to get around Dubai some are using the Dubai Metro which is like a sky train and the Abras which is a little boat that travels from Deira to Bur Dubai. I hope you have learned about Dubai!!!

Santa Clause at the mall ?

Tiantian and I are both doing this topic, so you will see her post soon after this. I'm sure everybody is starting to get excited for Christmas. It's really fun to get ready and decorate. I'm guessing that many of us used to take pictures with the Santa at the mall, I know I did! One question I always had when I was little is "If he's supposed to only comes on Christmas night, why does he come to the mall EVERY DAY?" and the answer was always that he had a few special workshops and for some reason they were in the mall. My first visit with him was amazing. I was walking in the mall with my parents and when I saw Santa I screamed. Getting my picture with Santa wasn't the greatest, it was the candy canes after that made me excited. Every year, thousands of men are hired to dress up as Santa and they actually get paid about $8,000! They also have to hire a couple elves to 'set the scene'. This year, if I have time I might take my dog to see a Santa, but only if I'm there at the right time, I'm not about to drive out there for a picture. Well that's all I have to say about that, thanks for reading!

Ping-pong

Ping-pong is a quick, intense game that is played all around the world. Ping-pong used to be called Table tennis, because it is simply like playing tennis, but on a table. The game was originated in England. Ping-pong is a sport which consits of two - four players hitting a small, light weight ball across the table. The speed of the ball usually catches players off guard. The goal of the game is to hit the ball to the other side of the table, and try to make the ball bounce twice, or for the opponent to miss the ball all together, therefor giving you a point. The game ends when the first team wins 5 points. Ping-pong is an extremely popular sport played by kids, adults, and teenagers. You have to have very quick reflexes and always be on your toes, you must have a lot of skill to play this game. There are several different strokes of the paddle, such as a speed drive, a loop drive, a counter drive, a flip, and a smash. Those are some examples of offensive strokes, which are used most often. I love to play ping-pong in my spare time. I challenge you to play against me!

Western Germany!

Germany is in Central Europe. It stretches over 357,021 square kilometers of forest and farm lands. With the population of around 82,060,000. Although Germany is across the world from Canada the temperature and people are almost identical but the schooling is a little different, let me explain. In Germany children are expected to try their hardest in school and be successful. By the age of eight, nine, or ten the children are tested to see how intelligent they are then placed into different levels of school. There are three types of schools; the Gymnasium for gifted children, Reachule for the average student, and the Hauptschule for the children who need extra help with their education. This schooling system is extremely different than ours because all children here are treated as equals. Winters are mild and summers tend to be cool, Although the maximum temperatures can exceed 30 degrees in the summer. The people of Germany love to have a good time, after school and work they enjoy to go see movies in the theater and go bowling. I hope you have learned lots about Western Germany!!! :-)

Basketball

Basket ball is one of the most popular organized sports in the world. It is played with two teams, each controlling there own half of the court. Each team's goal is to score on the other team's net therefor gaining them not one but two points. If someone gets a penalty, which can be gained either by traveling, fighting or grabbing the ball from someone's hands, the victim must do a free throw. they stand half way from the center of the court in the enemy's zone and then has one or two chances to sink a basket. If the do, Its worth one point. The winner is decided with whoever has the most points after the time is up. Basketball can also be played in other ways. some kids go for the "everything counts" rule. these games for me are much more fun.

How to play guitar (Continued)

Last week we went over the different parts of the guitar, lets start this week off now by going over how to position yourself best for playing.
Start by finding an armless chair to sit in. Make sure that you're sitting comfortably and that your back is well supported. No slouching! Place the guitar in your lap with the back of the instrument touching your chest. Let the body of the guitar rest on the leg farthest away from the head. If you are right handed, the head should be to your left, meaning you have to place the body on your right leg. If you look at the neck of your guitar you can see the thinnest string is closer to the ground.
Another of the most important things you will need to do in order to keep your guitar sounding good is to tune it on a regular basis. Tuning is done by tightening or loosening each of the tuning pegs on the head of the guitar. Here is how it's done. First place a finger on the 5th fret of the 6th string and play the note. Next play the 5th string open. When in tune, these two notes should sound exactly the same.Turn the peg for the 5th string until they sound the same. Notice that when you turn the peg one way the note gets higher. High notes are Sharp notes, and low notes are flat notes. Next place your finger on the 5th fret of the 5th string and repeat this process with the 4th string open. After you have done that repeat this process for the 4th and 3rd strings. Now instead of placing your finger on the 5th fret of the 3rd string when adjusting the 2nd string, place it on the 4th fret. Finally to tune the 1st and final string, go back to the first method by playing the 5th fret of the 2nd string.
That's all for this session, and I will continue my how to on how to play guitar in another week.

shelby

The shelby mustang is a high performance variant of the ford mustang built 1965 through 1970. Then the shelby nameplate was revivedin 2007 for new performance version mustangs. A brand new car of carroll shelby is a gt500 super snakes this car was modified from a gt500 the differnces btween these cars is that, well a lot differnt engine, wheels seats and the list goes on. a gt500 coasts up to about 40,000 to 70,000 and if you want to costimize it you'll be looking at around an aditional 28,000 but today you could buy another mustang but if you costimize a gt500 your horse power goes up to around 600 hrsepower. You might think thats bad for the enviorment but a gt500 is one of the cleanest cars that runs on fuels.

Trumpet is one of the most widely used instruments, being played in classical, jazz, contemporary
and so forth. It's a great instrument, but frustrating at first. It is frustrating because your
lips' "buzzing" is what makes the sound, the tighter the lips the higher the sound and vice versa.
For beginners, such as myself, lip buzzing is inconsistent, which makes for a bad sound. Despite
the fact that it's hard to start, once you get over the buzzing issue, it is pretty straight forward from
there. Then you can start playing songs and work your way up. Trying to learn by yourself can be
even more frustrating than the buzzing issue. Practicing trumpet in higher populated areas
could annoy the people you live with and those who are living around you, so having a good
teacher with a sense of humour and country location for practicing helps.

;)

I'm going to write about how to play softball. Only because Quinn is telling me to though. In softball there's 9 positions, Pitcher, Catcher, 1st base, 2nd base, short stop, 3rd base, left field, right field and center field. I've played softball/ baseball since I was four. The position I like playing the most is pitcher, or else i like going on 2nd base or short stop. This year will be my ninth year, and I play for beacon hill but their making a BC ball team so I'm playing on that. In softball it's an under-hand pitch instead of over hand.

Basketball

Basket ball is my favourite sport. It is a game in which 2 teams have 5 people each, and the hoop is about 10 feet. Basket ball was invented by North Americans, and is one of the most played sports in the world. I enjoy it because it is fun to dribble and pass to people, it is also fun to score a basket.

My Intrests Outside School

I love to draw and let my mind roam free ! Usually, I would go somewhere outdoors to draw instead of staying in side, unless it is raining. I am however, my most creative inside. I find it very interesting to go places and watch the people and try to guess thier personalities. My second favorite thing is to act. I love acting in drama because the feeling is so neat; to pretend that your someone else for a certain amount of time. It is a time to experience new things in life; a chance to step out of your own shoes. All of a sudden you can be in school one minute and on a battlefield the next, or on a plane anywhere in Paris! These are the thoughts that I think about that keep me strong everyday in life and it's exciting to wake up to a new day every morning!

Drumming

Drums are a very fun instrument. The fun thing about drumming is that you could always add on and on making it your own unique drum set. Many people like Neil Peart from Rush and Terry Bozzio from Frank Zappa show perfect examples of their drumsets being unique. The fun thing about drumming is that everyone could start. If your learning guitar or something else, you will have to learn how to use a pick, how to play chords and whatever else. But for drums, you can just pick up your drumsticks and jam. Also, improvisong on a drumset, especially a big one, is very easy. The only thing that is bad about drumming is that everything is so expensive. Most of the good drumsets are usually around $3000-$6000. And buying cymbals are usually $80-$200. Not to mention cymbal stands, double bass pedals, drum sticks, and thrones. So, I would recommend drumming to everyone.

Soccer ! WOOT

I know.. A lot of people are doing posts on soccer..but oh well.
I have been playing soccer for four years now and enjoy it very much. It is a lot of work because you have to run and understand the positions. My position that I mainly play is left wing. I help the midfielders to get the goals also known as 'goal assist'. Another point in soccer is that you have to be on top of the ball and be first there. To do that you must be aggressive, that means not using your shoulders but pushing the opponent off the ball thus getting your chance to pass it up to someone so you can get a goal! In soccer you have to pay attention or else that is like letting your team down, if your just running (not very hard) and not hustling to the ball than your teammates are gonna be very angry. Just to let you know if you want to be in soccer be prepared to work hard and concentrate!

A Game of Action

I already know that there are way to many posts on soccer, but I really don't care. Soccer is one of the most friendly sports out there. Some people wouldn't agree with me, but if you think about it soccer is nothing like Hockey, Lacrosse, Wrestling, etc. The most aggressive part of the game is just fighting for the ball! The position that I play, center midfield, is probably one of the most exciting positions. The key is to control the ball properly and send it off to an open player, or make a through ball. If your wondering what a through ball is exactly, it's kicking the ball through all of the players to an opening, where your team can run on it and hopefully get a goal! It's easier said than done. Some other important tips are that when you're shooting, you have to have a certain position and that passes should always be fast and crisp. My favorite team is Brazil's. I'm not sure why, so don't ask that question please.

PS: Don't you love how I didn't say 'soccer is played internationally' like all the other blogs. Your welcome.

Rowing

Rowing is a sport for both male and female athletes. There are four types of boats including a single, a double, a quad, and an eight. In an eight there is, obviously eight people, and a coxen which is the person who controls the boat. A quad is with four people, and single and doubles are self explanatory. In sweep or sweep-oar rowing, each rower has one oar, held with both hands. This can be done in pairs, fours and eights. Each rower in a sweep boat is referred to either as "port" or "starboard", depending on which side of the boat the rower's oar extends to. The oars which are held in place by the oarlocks to move the boat forward (towards the bow of the boat). Rowing can be done on any large body of water, including a river, lake or sea. There is also indoor rowing, strictly for training as a workout. The machines are called "ergs" and they measure the km performed. It is a great sport, and it gives you great exercise and makes you feel good and refreshed. I definitely recommend this sport too anybody that is interested.
