HIV/AIDS

I think HIV/AIDS is a serious problem and people should spend more time helping the cause because its a terrible disease to have and to live with. A way for the cause to be helped is to have a contest to see who can donate the most money to HIV/AIDS. There can be commercials and ads on T.V to explain how they can help the cause. I think that everyone is canada and the united states should donate at least 10 dollars to help with HIV/AIDS research. I think it is very important that more money goes to HIV/ AIDS research so the disease can be cured.

HIV/AIDS

People around the world are infected by a disease known as HIV/AIDS. HIV/AIDS is a disease the weakens the immune system. The immune system fights intruding organisms. Without the immune system your body cannot function properly. This horrible disease does not have a cure yet but luckily there is are drug cocktails that keep the symptoms down. Africa is the continent with the largest amount of infected people. Africa is also very poor and the drug cocktails are very expensive so because the majority of the infected cannot be treated the infected numbers continue to grow. Not enough money is being spent on finding the cure and the cost of the drug cocktails is too great.

Helping HIV/AIDS

It is estimated that there are 40 million people around the world that are living with HIV/AIDS today. United Nation agency says that in the future at least 68 million people will die from this disease. To prevent HIV/AIDS from getting worst then it is today, I think we need to donate as much money as it takes to find a cure to control this disease.

There is no medication to stop this disease right now but there is a mixture of drugs, referred to as "drug cocktails." This does not cure the disease but it keeps a person from living a longer life. Scientist need money to find a cure to control HIV/AIDS. If we donate it could give them a lot more help and let them find a cure quicker. Think about the kids that are suffering with HIV/AIDS right now. When they get older the future is in their hands to keep the earth from getting away from its normal routine. Right now adults are responsible of the earth now for their children to enjoy in the future.

We need to donate as much money as it takes to find a cure to control this disease. If we helped and donate we would probably save many lives. Not everyone will be cured but less people would have the disease and what the United Nation agency is predicting is doubtful to happen.

Question 4- HIV/AIDS sheet

I don't know or ever met someone with aids so I don't know the true damage done on their lives. But if its as bad as everyone says it is, then I definitely think that we should spend a lot of our money in a cure. There are many reasons. One of them is that, people who were born with it usually die at a younger age or spread it to other humans. Another is that if we let this disease infect more and more people, then more and more people will die. It will be the black death all over again. Except this time, humanity may be wiped out. It is a possibility. But don't worry too much. Just give lots of money to the HIV/AIDS foundation. The chance of an AIDS apocalypse is much more likely then the sun exploding or a zombie apocalypse. I don't know if zombies are real, but I'm not taking any chances. So pay lots of money to the AIDS foundation, Load your guns and make sure you wear sunscreen because there is a lot of trouble coming.

Black Death & HIV/AIDS

Human Immunodeficiency virus, also known as HIV/AIDS, is a horrible disease that needs to be brought under more control. I strongly agree with having more money going towards this. Canada has set lots of goals for this. They are doing there best to prevent new infections and slow the progression of the disease. Also, to reduce the social and ecomic impact of it. You cannot get HIV/AIDS from holding hands, hugging or other casual contact. It spreads by unprotected intercourse, sharing needles, such as those to inject drugs, steroids or even those used for tattoos. People with another sexually transmitted disease, are at greater risk for getting HIV/AIDS during sex with infected parteners. There is an estimate of 42 million people living with HIV/AIDS. The first case of HIV/AIDS was reported in Africa in the early 1980's. It has now spread worldwide. There is no official cure for this, but in some cases, it can be put under control with medication. A mixture of drugs referred to as, "drug cocktails" can be effective. The president of South Africa, Thabo Mbeki, has warned that poverty is the worlds biggest killer because people cannot afford to buy the drugs they need. The UNAIDS (united nations), estimates of numbers of people who could become infected in the future, may have to be re estimated to a greater number. This agency also researches the spread of HIV/AIDS and it believes that over the next two decades, at least 68 million people will die of HIV/AIDS. The majority of these deaths will occur in the poorest countries in the world. Africa is the continent hardest hit by this disease. I think there are many ways we can stop this by fundraising, such as a telethon, a walk or marathon for the cure, or even paying a small amount of money in your everyday life, to go towards the cure. This is very important to help fix this, and I think everyone should pitch in to make this happen!

HIV/Aids in Africa

I think we should definitely pay more money to try and cure aids. It's an extreme disease that I, and many others, wish to be cured. It's ruined so many children's lives in Africa and others that are living here! Aids can kill you, so why don't we have a cure yet? I think that we all, as people, should donate more money. I would be willing to do a bottle drive, sell something, or even just earn money to donate. This is a horrible disease and I really do feel bad for anybody who either has it or has a friend or family member who has it.
I think we should spend more money on this because it's really sad and something I think most people find really disturbing. Just in Sub-Saharan there are an estimated 22.4 million people living with aids. That's about two thirds of the whole globe of people that are living with it. Just to make you realize how bad it is, since this pandemic has started, more then 14 million children have lost one or both of their parents to aids. If nothing changes, the number of deaths will only rise to higher numbers. If we donate now, we may be able to help. We can help with education and money and maybe even get a cure one day.

Should More Money be Spent on HIV/AIDS?

I think that more money should be spent on the HIV/AIDS because, if we don't take care of the problem now,(in its early forms) then it will spread from nation to nation, country to country killing billions and billions of people. If that happens, however, we will lose great numbers in the population. Now, that might happen, and if it does there will only be a few thousand of us left, which means less and less stuff might not get invented for the future, education for children, on the other hand, will be having major problems with the government officials and other people. Humanity would be at one of its most horrible events ever.

hiv give some money to help them

There are millions of humans dying from HIV and the disease is in every country. The worst country for HIV is Africa and they are so poor we need to help them. Canada should give extra money out to them and help the HIV spread to a end now. Canada is trying to help them in there hour of need please help them. You can help by donating money to them. this would stop HIV once and for all.
This is what HIV does to you

HIV/AIDS & Black Death.

I believe we should spend more money on medicine for the cure of HIV/AIDS because it would save alot of peoples lives. This disease is sprended very easily especially if you have a parent with HIV/AIDS. HIV/AIDS first reportly started in Africa in the 1980's and spread to North America & Europe then finallyh spreaded worldwide. A young child could HIV/AIDS just because her/his mother or father has the disease.HIV/AIDS has killed many people in the past and can kill more people in the future if they d0n't eventually make a cure for this terrible disease. Some children are abandoned by there parents who have died from HIV/AIDS and now have to live with there grandparents which sometimes can slowly be dieing. Right now in Sub-Saharan Africa there are currently 22.4 million people with HIV which is around two thirds of the total population. In 2008, 1.4 million people died from AIDS and 1.9 million came infected with HIV. Since the beginning of this horrible disease, 14 million children have lost one or both parents to HIV/AIDS. Everyone in the world should do something towards the start of a campaign or fundraiser to finally try to make a cure for HIV/AIDS and hopefully a smart scientist will make a medicine or vaccine for it. The Black Death was a epidemic in the middle 14th century but I think HIV/AIDS now is way worse than the black death back than.HIV/AIDS should have a medicine made to cure it very soon.

HIV/AIDS

More money should definitely be spent on finding a way to help the HIV/AIDS situation because researchers have predicted that at least 68 million people will die from the disease in the next two decades. Most of the deaths will occur in the third world countries, and it is estimated that 39 percent of adults in just Botswana are infected. This disease is spreading fast.

Out of the 40 million people in the world are living with HIV/AIDS, 3 million are children. This is horrible because these children will be the next generation of people in the world, and it is extremely important that they do not have to go through this. They need to be alive to experience the world, it's not fair that they get this disease. There is not enough money spent on trying to fix this, and it is crucial that it be controlled.

If we spend more money on HIV/AIDS, then people who are suffering could receive "drug cocktails" or mixtures of medication that can drastically help the disease. With more money, we could create and distribute many more of these- the downside is that they are very expensive. Many sufferers cannot afford such a thing, and I think that it is not fair that some people receive the cocktails and some don't. This is another good reason why people need to pay attention and why more money should be spent, instead of useless things like war.

Another thing we could do is educate the people in Africa and explain to them how HIV/AIDS is transmitted, what it is, and what they can do to help. Even taking a few minutes to explain why sharing hypodermic needles is not a good idea, can help at least one person in the future. Isn't that what we're trying to do, help people realise and be safe?

To get more money for this cause, we need to get our point across and let people know that this is serious business. There are simple fundraisers that take basically no planning, and there are also larger events that can be planned out to raise money. Things like fairs, movie nights and other such events can be planned with larger groups, and in schools an HIV/AIDS day could be planned where everyone brings in, say, a dollar. You can even make your own event, by yourself, and go around doing something like collecting cans and donating the money received from recycling them to charity. If we take action- if each one of us does something, even if it is small, we could change the world's HIV/AIDS pandemic.

Why More Money Should be Spent on HIV AIDS

More money should be spent on HIV/AIDS research because lives will be shortened and peoples full potential will be compromised. If we leave it long enough it will eventually infect vast percentages of the global population. Many peoples lives would be shorted, most won't make it through high school. The education system would be severely crippled. Work would be scarce and the economy would crash. Eventually trained personnel would die and so would there knowledge would die with them. Innovations would cease. In the long term civilization would collapse. Humanity would separate in to small tribes and villages. 10,000 years of civilization would go to wast. We'd start all the way back at square one.

HIV/AIDS & Black Death

I think they should spend more money on HIV/AIDS because there are more people dying from it then any other disease in the world or in history. I think black death was very leathal but I think HIV/AIDS is worse. I think the government should hire some of the top scientists to try and make a cure for it because it is devistating the world and the population. I also dont think they should use dogs for testing the cure becauseI wouldnt want them to try and cure it because if its bad it could killing animals. If you have to test it then I dont think it will be right, either you get it or you dont, but DON'T test it on animals.

People should be putting more money in to HIV/aids because in the next two decades about 68 million people will die most of these deaths will occur in the poorest countries. About 40 million people are living with HIV/aids in the world including three million children. I think that this is way to much people living with this disease and looking at the economy people are not going to be able to by the drugs to keep them alive and support there family. The same thing is going on in Africa but its way worst the people living in Africa because they only make some money and the drug cocktails cost way more. So either people should start caring and donate money to the virus or they should give the drugs for a price every one can buy and still live there life or give them out for free to the people who needs it the most. People don't relies that this disease is deadly in till they get it. the risk of getting HIV/aids is increasing every day soon the whole human race will be wiped out or we can end it now and we can live for thousands of years to come . the way we can stop this virus is by found raising , donation or if we help where the virus is the worst.

HIV/AIDS

I think that the people should put some more money into the HIV/AID pandemic because there are meny people dying from this desease in the world. In 2008 the amount of people who had HIV/AIDS was 33.5 millon. The adults living with HIV/AIDS in 2008 was 31.3 million. the woman living with HIV/AIDS 15.7 million and most of them has died from it. Children with HIV/AIDS is 2.1 million. In Africa its even worse there about 60 million people that have HIV/AIDS and they are dying from it we need to help theses people. Thats why we need to send money to theses people that are suffering in the world and we should stop this right now.

HIV/AIDS Pandemic

I think that people should put more money into the HIV/AIDS Pandemic because there are about 60 million people living in Africa right now with AIDS. Africa is not a very wealthy country so they can not afford to buy the medication. We are supplying the medication but like I said, Africa is not a very wealthy country so they keep dying. We have to start investing and giving the medication they need for free, we will be doing a lot of good in the world. In 2008 almost 33.5 million people in the world are diagnosed with AIDS. The amount of adults living with AIDS is about 31.5 million people in the world. Women and children living with AIDS adds up to 17.8 million people in the world. We have to contribute to people with AIDS, and if we do not people will be dying out there and we could have done something to help but we just sit back and watch. HIV/AIDS is sometimes fatal, think about the people in the world who are suffering in Africa right now. Please contribute to HIV/AIDS, start a fund, do something to help the suffering in the World.

HIV/AIDS, question 4.

HIV/AIDS is a terrible disease that has led to many deaths. We need to make more of an effort to help slow down and eventually put an end to the spread of HIV/AIDS, and maybe one day, a cure! Throughout Africa, a poor country, HIV/AIDS is spreading rapidly. This disease leaves grandparents to take care of their grandchildren because they're parents have died, it leaves husbands with no wives, wives with no husbands. Also, young, innocent children are born with HIV/AIDS because they're mother had this disease when she was pregnant, the child automatically has to live his/her whole life with HIV/AIDS. Currently, in Africa, there are about 22.4 million people living with HIV/AIDS! Starting from the beginning of the epidemic, over 14 million children have lost either 1, or both of their parents to HIV/AIDS, leaving them alone, or their tired and worn out grandparents to take care of them. This disease must be put to an end! We have to do our part to stop this terrible and life threatening disease. We should pay attention to fundraisers, and organize some of our own. If the Terry Fox run works for cancer, why can't we try something along those lines for HIV/AIDS? Let's try it, and focus more about this virus. Before, Black Death was the worst pandemic in history, since then, HIV/AIDS has taken over the title and is the worst pandemic disease right now! This is a news flash, we need to put an end to HIV/AIDS, and try to find a cure!
I think a large amount of money should go towards saving people from aid/hiv because, if we don't in time it would get worse. It would be spread around everywhere get way.. worse than it is right now. Already we have thousands of people in canada dieing from it and, millions in other places. Just sufering and worring that they can't do the things they loved to do before. Alot of people might be losing their brother or sister or even their mom or a friend. If you were to think for a second you were in their shoes how painful it might be like. Well we can help them think about it, if we all pitched in like 30 dollers we could, raise up too 20,000,000 witched would help a large amount with getting rid of Aids/HIV!!!!

HIV/AIDS & Black Death.

HIV/AIDS is a horrible disease that has led to many deaths. In my opinion i think that not enough money is being spent on a cure. HIV/AIDS kills the t-cells if the immune system, which results of a fatal immune deficiency after a period that last about 10 years or so. Most people, when diagnosed with HIV/AIDS, no symptoms with occure. The awful virus kills the cells that are primarly infection fighters called CD4 cells. AIDS is the later stage of HIV infection, when the body loses the ability to fight other infections. The virus passes form person to person primarily through sexual activity. It can also spread through the sharing of hypodermic needles, and mothers who are infected can pass the disease on to their children at birth. A cure for HIV/AIDS has not yet been discovered yet, but many scientists and doctors are working on it. Not enough money is being spent on HIV/AIDS, when it should be one of our main priorities insted of building amusement parks, and malls, and other pointless things. If we keep spending our money on building, and more and more poeple are getting HIV/AIDS, then more and more people are dying, and won't be able to use the things we build.
A United Nations agenct called UNAIDS believes that we are only at the beginning of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. This agency researches the spread of HIV/AIDS and it beliebes that over the next two decades, at least 68 million people will die of HIV/AIDS. The majority of these deaths will occure in the poorest countries in the world, big surprise. If we use our money, and donate it to the poor, third world countries, less and less people will die. UNAIDS estimates there are 40 million people in the world living with HIV/AIDS, including three million children. Africa is the continent hardest hit by HIV/AIDS. In one Africa country, Botswana, 39 per cent of adults are infected with the virus. While there is still no cure for HIV/AIDS, in some cases the disease can be controlled with medicatioin. A mixture of drugs, referred to as "drug cocktails" can be effective in prolonging the life of HID/AIDS sufferers. However, the "drug cocktails" are very expensive, which is another reason we should be dontating money to third world countries. By helping with HIV/AIDS, your not only helping people that are affected by it, your helping everyone. Making the world a better place, for everyone. :)

The Black Death and HIV / AIDS

We need to bring HIV / AIDS under control! I have never met someone who had it, but i have herd a great amount about it. We should be spending more to find a cure that could save millions. Kids and adults have to be more informed so we have a better risk of not getting it. If we don't get this message out. HIV / AIDS is going to harm our country badly. Even worse than the Black Death did. If this goes on for any longer, soon there will be a huge crisis and it will be hazardous. It will be even harder to cure all those that we love, so why not put our efforts in finding a cure now? No one should ever suffer with this horrible disease. We HAVE TO find a cure! Are we going to stand here and do nothing while our people are dying all over the world? We have to think about our future generations. Do you want them to have a chance at getting HIV / AIDS?

HIV/AIDS

Millions of people, mostly Africans, are infected with the horrible disease known as HIV/AIDS. HIV/AIDS is a virus that destroys the immune system, which protects the body from diseases. If your body cannot protect itself from the millions of diseases in the world, how could you survive? since the first case of HIV/AIDS in Africa in the 1980's, this has a been a question that has puzzled the world for years. Now the problem that troubles the average person is that why we haven't found a cure for this disease. The problem is money, it always is. Though there is a mixture of drugs called a "drug cocktail" that can be effective in prolonging the life of victims. However, the problem, again, is money and the poor, suffering Africans cannot afford these drug cocktails that can price up to $250 a day. Up to 40 million people are shadowed with HIV/AIDS, which a wake-up call that needs to be picked up. To make matters even worse, it is estimated that a whopping 68 million will die of HIV/AIDS within the next twenty years! That's more than 3 million people a year that are dying from this pandemic. If the government doesn't put a stop to this, maybe half the world will die from HIV/AIDS and the drug cocktails aren't helping. Out of the 40 million people with of HIV/AIDS, only 730,000 are receiving cocktail, and unfortunately, only 30,000 of them are African. Not only are they suffering from poverty, HIV/AIDS has practically become a daily part of their lives. By this rate, I wouldn't be surprised to see continents wiped out by this pandemic.

Why more money should be spent to stop HIV/AIDS

I think more money should be spent on finding a to stop HIV because

  • People from all around the world are dieing from HIV/AIDS (Around 68 million)
  • The disease can spread very fast
  • The population will decrease in lots of cities
  • Kids can die too even pregnant woman.
  • Doctors can even get the disease
  • Towns and cities will lose money
  • Africa has lots of sick and dieing people
If the disease is stopped then
  • It won't just cure Canada it will cure the world
  • Population in cities will increase
  • There will be more doctors to tend the sick
  • Towns and cities will get more money from tourists
  • Africa will have less sick people
Canada can help all theses countries just by donating money to help doctors find a cure for HIV/AIDS

hiv & aids .

Most people know about the rapid spread of HIV/AIDS in the world but mostly in poor parts of Africa. So many people are dying because of it and still there isn't a cure. If something so serious is happening and killing so many people I would expect that they would try really hard and put more money and time into finding a cure for this deadly disease. If no one does anything about it, it will just keep spreading and killing so many people. Worldwide estimates that as of December 2000, there were an estimated 36.1 million people living with HIV/AIDS (34.7 million adults and 1.4 million children under 15). Since the epidemic began, an estimated 21.8 million people have died of AIDS (17.5 million adults and 4.3 million children under 15). Just think about how bad it's effecting the world already, if we just leave this alone and don't find a cure all it's going to do is get worse. Alot of people don't care as much and actually understand how bad HIV/AIDS can be and how many people have died from it. I think scientests or whoever is incharge of finding cures for it should try alittle harder because it's been going on a long time and it's not going to stop until we make it.

HIV/AIDS

I think that HIV/AIDS is a serious problem. If we all work together then this disease could be stopped. I predict that if everyone in the world (6.8 billion people) donated a reasonable and affordible amount for a cure, then this global pandemic would end once and for all. Another idea to stop this disease would be adding t.v and radio commercials explaining what HIV/AIDS is, how it is spread, how its caused, and what to do and where to go if you think you have this disease. If we all worked together to stop HIV/AIDS then this global pandemic would end once and for all.

Brenna Patterson :)

HIV/AIDS

The pandemic should be kept under control so more people can recover from the disease. More money should be spent so that the disease is not widely spread in Canada because more Africans are coming to Canada looking for a better life in Canada and coming over and marrying Canadians. AIDS should be stop ed because it is affecting millions of people that don't have much money to begin with and they have to stay home and take care of their family when they could be out making money working. The pandemic should be stopped because more and more people are dieing now 46 million people have died cause of the disease and it is about 2 times as many more people have died from AIDS as the black death.
