Naval Base Field Trip.

The other day our class went to the Naden Naval Base in Esquimalt, it was really fun! The first thing we learned about was the fleet school, we toured it and they told showed us all the classes that are in the building and told us what they teach in each class. There was three main trades that they learn about. The first one we learned about was Elelctrician trade which they work on computers and other high tech stuff they work on. The other trades were Stokers and Hall Tech, all these trades are "Hands on" for the students. In the fleet school they showed us different engines and machines they work on, some they use to make other stuff and others they are fixing to put back 0n the boats. The next thing we did after the Fleet school was go eat lunch and socialize with friends. After that we walked over to the boats and got a tour. We were showed the workers cabins on the boat for when they are at sea and showed us where everyone hangs out when they don't have to work and what the kitchen looks like. Our tour guide also told us some of the meanings of the words because they have different words from what we say, like for kitchen they say Gally. We were also shown where the person drives the boat and it looks like it would be very hard to see out of. My favourite part of the field trip would have to be the Tour of the Ships because it was cool seeing what the ships look like inside.
