HIV/AIDS

Millions of people, mostly Africans, are infected with the horrible disease known as HIV/AIDS. HIV/AIDS is a virus that destroys the immune system, which protects the body from diseases. If your body cannot protect itself from the millions of diseases in the world, how could you survive? since the first case of HIV/AIDS in Africa in the 1980's, this has a been a question that has puzzled the world for years. Now the problem that troubles the average person is that why we haven't found a cure for this disease. The problem is money, it always is. Though there is a mixture of drugs called a "drug cocktail" that can be effective in prolonging the life of victims. However, the problem, again, is money and the poor, suffering Africans cannot afford these drug cocktails that can price up to $250 a day. Up to 40 million people are shadowed with HIV/AIDS, which a wake-up call that needs to be picked up. To make matters even worse, it is estimated that a whopping 68 million will die of HIV/AIDS within the next twenty years! That's more than 3 million people a year that are dying from this pandemic. If the government doesn't put a stop to this, maybe half the world will die from HIV/AIDS and the drug cocktails aren't helping. Out of the 40 million people with of HIV/AIDS, only 730,000 are receiving cocktail, and unfortunately, only 30,000 of them are African. Not only are they suffering from poverty, HIV/AIDS has practically become a daily part of their lives. By this rate, I wouldn't be surprised to see continents wiped out by this pandemic.
