Santa Clause at the mall ?

Tiantian and I are both doing this topic, so you will see her post soon after this. I'm sure everybody is starting to get excited for Christmas. It's really fun to get ready and decorate. I'm guessing that many of us used to take pictures with the Santa at the mall, I know I did! One question I always had when I was little is "If he's supposed to only comes on Christmas night, why does he come to the mall EVERY DAY?" and the answer was always that he had a few special workshops and for some reason they were in the mall. My first visit with him was amazing. I was walking in the mall with my parents and when I saw Santa I screamed. Getting my picture with Santa wasn't the greatest, it was the candy canes after that made me excited. Every year, thousands of men are hired to dress up as Santa and they actually get paid about $8,000! They also have to hire a couple elves to 'set the scene'. This year, if I have time I might take my dog to see a Santa, but only if I'm there at the right time, I'm not about to drive out there for a picture. Well that's all I have to say about that, thanks for reading!

Ping-pong

Ping-pong is a quick, intense game that is played all around the world. Ping-pong used to be called Table tennis, because it is simply like playing tennis, but on a table. The game was originated in England. Ping-pong is a sport which consits of two - four players hitting a small, light weight ball across the table. The speed of the ball usually catches players off guard. The goal of the game is to hit the ball to the other side of the table, and try to make the ball bounce twice, or for the opponent to miss the ball all together, therefor giving you a point. The game ends when the first team wins 5 points. Ping-pong is an extremely popular sport played by kids, adults, and teenagers. You have to have very quick reflexes and always be on your toes, you must have a lot of skill to play this game. There are several different strokes of the paddle, such as a speed drive, a loop drive, a counter drive, a flip, and a smash. Those are some examples of offensive strokes, which are used most often. I love to play ping-pong in my spare time. I challenge you to play against me!

Western Germany!

Germany is in Central Europe. It stretches over 357,021 square kilometers of forest and farm lands. With the population of around 82,060,000. Although Germany is across the world from Canada the temperature and people are almost identical but the schooling is a little different, let me explain. In Germany children are expected to try their hardest in school and be successful. By the age of eight, nine, or ten the children are tested to see how intelligent they are then placed into different levels of school. There are three types of schools; the Gymnasium for gifted children, Reachule for the average student, and the Hauptschule for the children who need extra help with their education. This schooling system is extremely different than ours because all children here are treated as equals. Winters are mild and summers tend to be cool, Although the maximum temperatures can exceed 30 degrees in the summer. The people of Germany love to have a good time, after school and work they enjoy to go see movies in the theater and go bowling. I hope you have learned lots about Western Germany!!! :-)

Basketball

Basket ball is one of the most popular organized sports in the world. It is played with two teams, each controlling there own half of the court. Each team's goal is to score on the other team's net therefor gaining them not one but two points. If someone gets a penalty, which can be gained either by traveling, fighting or grabbing the ball from someone's hands, the victim must do a free throw. they stand half way from the center of the court in the enemy's zone and then has one or two chances to sink a basket. If the do, Its worth one point. The winner is decided with whoever has the most points after the time is up. Basketball can also be played in other ways. some kids go for the "everything counts" rule. these games for me are much more fun.

How to play guitar (Continued)

Last week we went over the different parts of the guitar, lets start this week off now by going over how to position yourself best for playing.
Start by finding an armless chair to sit in. Make sure that you're sitting comfortably and that your back is well supported. No slouching! Place the guitar in your lap with the back of the instrument touching your chest. Let the body of the guitar rest on the leg farthest away from the head. If you are right handed, the head should be to your left, meaning you have to place the body on your right leg. If you look at the neck of your guitar you can see the thinnest string is closer to the ground.
Another of the most important things you will need to do in order to keep your guitar sounding good is to tune it on a regular basis. Tuning is done by tightening or loosening each of the tuning pegs on the head of the guitar. Here is how it's done. First place a finger on the 5th fret of the 6th string and play the note. Next play the 5th string open. When in tune, these two notes should sound exactly the same.Turn the peg for the 5th string until they sound the same. Notice that when you turn the peg one way the note gets higher. High notes are Sharp notes, and low notes are flat notes. Next place your finger on the 5th fret of the 5th string and repeat this process with the 4th string open. After you have done that repeat this process for the 4th and 3rd strings. Now instead of placing your finger on the 5th fret of the 3rd string when adjusting the 2nd string, place it on the 4th fret. Finally to tune the 1st and final string, go back to the first method by playing the 5th fret of the 2nd string.
That's all for this session, and I will continue my how to on how to play guitar in another week.

shelby

The shelby mustang is a high performance variant of the ford mustang built 1965 through 1970. Then the shelby nameplate was revivedin 2007 for new performance version mustangs. A brand new car of carroll shelby is a gt500 super snakes this car was modified from a gt500 the differnces btween these cars is that, well a lot differnt engine, wheels seats and the list goes on. a gt500 coasts up to about 40,000 to 70,000 and if you want to costimize it you'll be looking at around an aditional 28,000 but today you could buy another mustang but if you costimize a gt500 your horse power goes up to around 600 hrsepower. You might think thats bad for the enviorment but a gt500 is one of the cleanest cars that runs on fuels.

Trumpet is one of the most widely used instruments, being played in classical, jazz, contemporary
and so forth. It's a great instrument, but frustrating at first. It is frustrating because your
lips' "buzzing" is what makes the sound, the tighter the lips the higher the sound and vice versa.
For beginners, such as myself, lip buzzing is inconsistent, which makes for a bad sound. Despite
the fact that it's hard to start, once you get over the buzzing issue, it is pretty straight forward from
there. Then you can start playing songs and work your way up. Trying to learn by yourself can be
even more frustrating than the buzzing issue. Practicing trumpet in higher populated areas
could annoy the people you live with and those who are living around you, so having a good
teacher with a sense of humour and country location for practicing helps.

;)

I'm going to write about how to play softball. Only because Quinn is telling me to though. In softball there's 9 positions, Pitcher, Catcher, 1st base, 2nd base, short stop, 3rd base, left field, right field and center field. I've played softball/ baseball since I was four. The position I like playing the most is pitcher, or else i like going on 2nd base or short stop. This year will be my ninth year, and I play for beacon hill but their making a BC ball team so I'm playing on that. In softball it's an under-hand pitch instead of over hand.
